How it works
Three simple steps
- 01
Add the connector
Paste the SlideScript address into your AI app’s connector settings.
- 02
Sign in once
Sign in with Google on slidescript.live and click Allow. No API keys.
- 03
Ask your AI
“Turn my slides into a 10-minute script” — and keep working in the chat.
From your chat
Everything you do on SlideScript, in the conversation
Your AI app calls SlideScript for you. Your scripts stay in your SlideScript account.
Generate a timed script
Upload a PDF in the chat and get a word-for-word script, timed slide by slide, with a live progress card.
Slide-by-slide card
Flip through your script one slide at a time with Previous and Next, right in the conversation.
Edits sync to the website
Say “change slide 4 to mention our Q3 numbers”. The same script updates on slidescript.live.
Open in SlideScript
One link opens the script on the website when you’d rather type edits yourself.
Download TXT, Word or PDF
Always built from the latest version — every edit from the chat or the website included.
Refine and ask Scout
Rewrite a slide in a new tone, or get coaching on pacing and delivery from Scout.
Setup
How to add it
Pick your app. Every app ends at the same SlideScript sign-in screen: check the app name and the address it shows, then click Allow.
Claude (web, desktop and mobile)
Full supportPlan: Any Claude plan. Free accounts can add one custom connector. On Team and Enterprise, an owner adds it first under Organization settings → Connectors.
- 1Open claude.ai (or the Claude desktop app) and go to Customize → Connectors.
- 2Click “+ Add”, then “Add custom connector”.
- 3Name it SlideScript and paste the connector URL above. Click Add.
- 4Click Connect. Sign in to SlideScript with Google, then click Allow on the “Connect to SlideScript” screen (it shows your email and that it will be sent to claude.ai).
- 5On mobile, add it on the web or desktop first — it then appears in the Claude mobile app automatically.
Check it worked: In a new chat, ask “What’s my SlideScript plan?” — a SlideScript card with your plan appears.
ChatGPT
Full supportPlan: Custom connectors use ChatGPT’s developer mode on the web, available on paid plans (Plus, Pro, Business, Enterprise and Edu — workspace admins may need to allow it).
- 1On chatgpt.com, open Settings → Apps → Advanced settings and turn on Developer mode.
- 2Create a new app (custom MCP server), name it SlideScript and paste the connector URL. Choose OAuth for authentication.
- 3Sign in to SlideScript with Google and click Allow on the “Connect to SlideScript” screen.
- 4In a chat, turn the SlideScript app on from the tools / apps menu.
Check it worked: Ask “List my saved SlideScript scripts” — your scripts appear with their ids.
Grok (grok.com and the Grok apps)
Full supportPlan: Connectors are available to all Grok users. On Grok Business and Enterprise, a team admin adds the connector first: console.x.ai → your team → Grok Business → Connectors → “+ Add Connector” → Other → paste the connector URL. Members then connect their own accounts at grok.com/connectors.
- 1Go to grok.com/connectors.
- 2Click “New Connector”, then select “Custom” (“Add your own custom connector”).
- 3Enter SlideScript as the Name and the connector URL above as the Server URL, then click “Add Connector”.
- 4Grok opens the SlideScript sign-in in a popup window (allow popups for grok.com if your browser blocks it). Sign in with Google and click Allow on the “Connect to SlideScript” screen — it names the app as Grok and says it will be sent to grok.com.
Check it worked: In a Grok chat, ask “What’s my SlideScript plan?” — a SlideScript card appears with your answer.
Google Gemini app
Text onlyPlan: Personal Google accounts, 18+, in the US, in English. Work or school accounts can’t add custom apps yet.
- 1On gemini.google.com, open Settings → Connected Apps.
- 2Under “Custom apps”, choose “Add a custom app”.
- 3Paste the connector URL and click Next, then sign in to SlideScript and click Allow.
- 4The app also works in the Gemini mobile app once added on the web.
Check it worked: Ask “List my saved SlideScript scripts”.
This app shows text rather than SlideScript’s cards: list, read, edit, open and download scripts here, and upload new decks on slidescript.live (then carry on in the chat) or in an app with full support.
Grok Bot (desktop and iOS)
Text onlyPlan: Grok Bot is included with Grok’s Premium, Super and Ultra plans, Teams and Enterprise, and with eligible Cursor plans; it signs in with your Cursor account. xAI’s docs cover catalog apps but don’t yet document custom connectors; the steps below follow how the Bot handles a custom server today and may change.
- 1Easiest: just ask your Bot. Send it exactly: “Add a custom MCP server called SlideScript at https://www.slidescript.live/api/mcp”.
- 2The Bot asks you to confirm — choose “Add it”.
- 3A connect card appears — choose “Authorize”. Your browser opens the SlideScript sign-in.
- 4Sign in with Google and click Allow. The SlideScript screen will likely name the app as Cursor — that is expected: Grok Bot uses your Cursor account to sign in to connectors.
- 5SlideScript then appears under Connect apps → Your plugins. You can attach it in a chat by typing @.
All your Grok Bots share one computer, so once connected, any of your Bots can use your SlideScript scripts and credits. Disconnect anytime.
Check it worked: Ask your Bot “What’s my SlideScript plan?”.
This app shows text rather than SlideScript’s cards, but it can still upload a new deck: ask it to upload your slides and give it the PDF or PPTX file. It gets a one-time upload link from SlideScript and sends the file from its own terminal. Listing, reading, editing, opening and downloading scripts all work here too.
Cursor
Full supportPlan: Any Cursor plan.
- 1Open (or create) ~/.cursor/mcp.json — or .cursor/mcp.json in a project — and add the entry below.
- 2Save. Cursor shows SlideScript under its MCP servers with a sign-in prompt — sign in and click Allow.
{
"mcpServers": {
"slidescript": { "url": "https://www.slidescript.live/api/mcp" }
}
}Check it worked: In Agent chat, ask “What’s my SlideScript plan?”.
VS Code (GitHub Copilot)
Full supportPlan: Copilot in VS Code, agent mode. Your organisation may restrict MCP servers.
- 1Open the Command Palette and run “MCP: Add Server”.
- 2Choose “HTTP (HTTP or Server-Sent Events)”, paste the connector URL and name it slidescript.
- 3VS Code opens a browser to sign in — sign in to SlideScript and click Allow (the screen says “an app on this computer”).
Check it worked: In Copilot Chat (Agent mode), ask “What’s my SlideScript plan?”.
Mistral Le Chat
Text onlyPlan: Custom connectors are in beta on Le Chat.
- 1Open the Connectors page and click “+ Add Connector”.
- 2Choose the “Custom MCP Connector” tab and paste the connector URL.
- 3Click Connect, sign in to SlideScript and click Allow.
Check it worked: Ask “What’s my SlideScript plan?”.
This app shows text rather than SlideScript’s cards: list, read, edit, open and download scripts here, and upload new decks on slidescript.live (then carry on in the chat) or in an app with full support.
Claude Code
Text onlyPlan: Any Claude Code setup.
- 1Run this in your terminal:
- 2Then start Claude Code, type /mcp, choose slidescript and sign in. Click Allow in the browser.
claude mcp add --transport http slidescript https://www.slidescript.live/api/mcpCheck it worked: Ask “list my saved SlideScript scripts”.
Gemini CLI
Text onlyPlan: Any Gemini CLI setup.
- 1Run this in your terminal:
- 2Then, inside Gemini CLI, run /mcp auth slidescript and sign in. Click Allow in the browser.
gemini mcp add --transport http slidescript https://www.slidescript.live/api/mcpCheck it worked: Ask “list my saved SlideScript scripts”.
Grok Build (CLI)
Text onlyPlan: Any Grok Build setup.
- 1Run this in your terminal:
- 2The first time Grok Build uses SlideScript, your browser opens the SlideScript sign-in — sign in and click Allow. (Inside the TUI you can also open /mcps and press i to sign in.)
grok mcp add --transport http slidescript https://www.slidescript.live/api/mcpCheck it worked: Run grok mcp doctor slidescript, or ask “list my saved SlideScript scripts”.
This app shows text rather than SlideScript’s cards, but it can still upload a new deck: ask it to upload your slides and give it the PDF or PPTX file. It gets a one-time upload link from SlideScript and sends the file from its own terminal. Listing, reading, editing, opening and downloading scripts all work here too.
xAI API (remote MCP tool)
Not available yetPlan: The xAI API’s remote MCP tool connects with a fixed API token in a header, with no sign-in screen. SlideScript accounts don’t have personal API tokens yet, so this isn’t available. Use Grok, Grok Bot or Grok Build instead.
Microsoft Copilot
Not available yetPlan: The consumer Copilot app has no way to add a custom connector yet. Businesses can add it through Copilot Studio (Tools → Add a tool → New tool → Model Context Protocol, OAuth with dynamic discovery) or a Microsoft 365 admin.
Good to know
Full support or text only?
The app shows SlideScript’s cards inside the chat.
Upload a deck, watch the script being written, and flip through it slide by slide — plus everything in text only.
The app talks to SlideScript in words, without the cards.
List, read, edit, open and download your scripts. Apps with a terminal (Grok Bot, Claude Code, Gemini CLI, Grok Build) can also upload a new deck with a one-time upload link; in the others, upload on the website and carry on in the chat.
Safe by design
The connector uses the open Model Context Protocol (MCP) with OAuth sign-in. Your AI app never sees your password, it can only reach your own scripts, and you can disconnect it at any time.
- Google sign-in, no passwords
- Only your own scripts
- You approve every app
For AI agents
If you are an AI assistant helping someone connect SlideScript, everything you need is here. A plain-text copy is at /connectors.md.
- MCP server URL
https://www.slidescript.live/api/mcp- Transport
- Streamable HTTP
- Authentication
- OAuth 2.1 with PKCE; client ID metadata documents or dynamic client registration. No API keys.
- Who approves
- The person. They sign in with Google and click Allow on the SlideScript screen themselves.
- Credits
- Each generation uses one script credit. Buying credits is done by the person at slidescript.live/pricing.
Steps for an agent
- Use the connector URL above as a remote MCP server (Streamable HTTP). No API key is needed.
- In the person's AI app, open its connector / MCP / plugin settings and add a custom connector with that URL (see the app's guide on this page).
- When the app opens the SlideScript sign-in page, hand control to the person: they sign in with Google and click Allow on the “Connect to SlideScript” screen themselves. Do not click Allow on their behalf.
- Confirm it worked by calling get_account_status (it returns their plan and credits).
- To add slides: if your app shows cards, call prepare_upload and let the person use the card. If it can't show cards but you have a terminal, call get_agent_upload_link and run its curl command with the person's PDF or PPTX, then check get_upload_status. With neither, ask the person to upload at slidescript.live and continue with their saved script.
- Ask the person before generating — each generation uses one of their script credits. Buying credits is done by the person on slidescript.live/pricing.
Tools the connector provides
get_account_status— Shows the person's SlideScript plan and remaining script credits.prepare_upload— Opens an upload card so the person can add a PDF deck (apps that show cards — always prefer it there).get_agent_upload_link— For apps that can't show cards but have a terminal: a one-time, 15-minute upload link and a ready-to-run curl command for a PDF or PPTX (up to 5 files, 3.5MB each; the finished deck at most 3.5MB). Free.get_upload_status— Says whether the uploaded deck arrived and how many slides it has.generate_script— Starts writing a timed speaking script for an uploaded deck. Uses one script credit.get_job_status— Reports progress of a generation and, when done, the script id.cancel_generation— Stops a generation that is stuck or no longer wanted.list_my_scripts— Lists the person's saved scripts, newest first, with their ids.get_deck_context— Reads a script slide by slide (with slide images where the plan includes them).open_slide_card— Shows a script one slide at a time with Previous / Next (apps with full support).update_slide_script— Replaces one slide's words; the change also appears on the website.refine_slide— Rewrites one slide with SlideScript's own engine, following an instruction.consult_scout— Asks Scout, the presentation coach, about one slide.save_script— Saves a chat-made script to the person's account (My Scripts).get_script_page_link— Gives the link that opens the script on slidescript.live for typing edits.get_download_link— Gives a short-lived link to download the latest version as TXT, DOCX or PDF.
FAQ
Questions
Is it safe?
Yes. You sign in with Google on slidescript.live itself, and you see exactly which app is asking and where your sign-in will be sent before you click Allow. The AI app never sees your password. The connector can only reach your own scripts, and you can disconnect it at any time from the AI app’s connector settings.
Does it use my credits?
Generating a script uses one script credit, exactly like on the website. Reading, editing, saving, opening and downloading scripts uses none. Refine and Scout follow your plan’s usual allowances.
Which AI apps work?
Claude, ChatGPT, Grok, Cursor and VS Code show SlideScript’s cards (upload, progress, slide-by-slide). Gemini, Le Chat, Grok Bot, Grok Build, Claude Code and Gemini CLI work in text: you can list, read, edit, open and download your scripts. Of those, the apps with a terminal — Grok Bot, Claude Code, Gemini CLI and Grok Build — can also upload a new deck, using a one-time upload link. In Gemini and Le Chat, upload on slidescript.live and then carry on in the chat. The consumer Microsoft Copilot app and the xAI API can’t use it yet.
Can I edit by hand?
Yes. Ask your AI app for the SlideScript link and it opens the same script on slidescript.live, where you can type edits yourself. Edits made on the website and in the chat change one and the same script.
My AI app says a SlideScript tool is missing
If your AI app says a SlideScript tool is missing, disconnect and reconnect the connector to refresh its tool list. AI apps remember the list of tools from when you first connected, so a tool we add later can stay hidden until you reconnect (or restart the app). Uploading never depends on a new tool: the upload reply itself carries everything an app needs.
What do I paste?
Just this address: https://www.slidescript.live/api/mcp. No API key is needed — you sign in with Google the first time.
